Are the Toyota Highlanders good for off-roading?

I've been looking at the Toyota Highlander for my next car but I also like going off-roading. Can the Highlander handle rough terrain?

It really depends on what your definition of 'off-roading' is. If you're talking about light trails and dirt roads, then the Toyota Highlander should have no problem. But if you're planning on taking it on more challenging terrain, then you may want to consider a vehicle specifically designed for off-roading like the Toyota 4Runner.

I've taken my Highlander on some pretty intense mountain trails and it's held up great. The all-wheel drive system and reliable suspension make it a capable off-roader. Just make sure you have the right tires and take it slow.

I wouldn't recommend the Highlander for off-roading. It's meant for more urban and suburban driving. If you really want a Toyota for off-roading, go for the 4Runner or the Land Cruiser.
