I recently purchased a Toyota GR86 and I love everything about it, except for the quiet exhaust sound. Is there any way I can modify the exhaust to make it louder without sacrificing performance? I also don't want it to be too loud or obnoxious. What are my options?
ReplyHi Jenna, congratulations on your new GR86! You can definitely customize the exhaust sound to make it louder. One option is to install an aftermarket exhaust system specifically designed for the GR86. Make sure to do your research and choose a reputable brand to avoid any potential performance issues. Another option is to install a sound amplifier, which can be adjusted to your desired loudness. Just be aware that this may affect the warranty of your car. Always consult with a professional tuner before making any modifications. Good luck!
Hey Jenna, I had the same issue with my GR86. I ended up installing a cold air intake, which not only increased the power of my car, but also gave it a deeper and louder exhaust sound. However, keep in mind that this may also void your warranty. Another cheaper option is to remove the sound dampening material from the stock exhaust. This will make it a bit louder, but not as loud as an aftermarket exhaust. Hope this helps!
Hi Jenna, I suggest you try adjusting the exhaust valves before making any modifications. Most modern cars, including the GR86, have exhaust valves that can be opened or closed to adjust the loudness of the exhaust. You may need to refer to your car's manual or get help from a mechanic. This way, you can achieve a louder exhaust without affecting the performance or warranty of your car. Best of luck!
