Why does my Toyota RAV4 keep making a strange clicking noise?

I recently purchased a used Toyota RAV4 and I've noticed that it makes a strange clicking noise whenever I start the engine or make a sharp turn. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Based on your description, it sounds like you may have a problem with your CV joint. This is a common issue with older RAV4s. I would recommend bringing it to a mechanic to get it checked out.

It could also be an issue with your wheel bearings. Have you noticed any vibrations or shaking while driving? If so, it's definitely worth getting checked out by a professional.

Another possibility is that your brake pads or rotors need to be replaced. If the noise is more noticeable when braking, this could be the culprit.

I had a similar issue with my own RAV4 and it turned out to be a loose bolt in the engine. I would suggest checking all the bolts and screws under the hood to make sure everything is tightly secured.
