I'm in the market for a used Toyota Highlander and I'm not sure which model year to get. I want something reliable and with good fuel efficiency. What would you recommend?
ReplyI would recommend going for a 2016 or newer model. The 2016 Highlander has a newly refined suspension that provides a smoother ride and better handling. Plus, it's also equipped with Toyota's latest safety features like lane departure warning and forward collision warning. As for fuel efficiency, the 2016 model has an EPA-estimated 20 city/27 highway MPG, which is pretty impressive for a midsize SUV.
If you're looking for better fuel efficiency, I would suggest going for the 2017 or newer hybrid model. It has an EPA-estimated 29 city/27 highway MPG, which is significantly higher than the non-hybrid models. However, keep in mind that the hybrid models will have a higher upfront cost.
If you want the most reliable option, I would recommend the 2018 model. It has the highest JD Power reliability score and also comes with Toyota's Safety Sense suite, which includes advanced safety features like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and dynamic radar cruise control.
