When is the best time to replace the tires on a Toyota Prius?

I've been driving my Toyota Prius for 4 years now and I've never replaced the tires. I've read online that the tires should be replaced every 6 years, but my mechanic says they still have enough tread. When should I really replace them?

It's important to regularly check the tread depth on your tires. If they are wearing unevenly or have less than 1/16 inch of tread depth, it's time to replace them. It's better to be proactive and replace them before they become a safety hazard.

Depending on your driving habits and the climate you live in, the lifespan of tires can vary. If you live in a hot climate, it's recommended to replace your tires every 6 years. If you have a heavy foot and drive aggressively, you may need to replace them even sooner. It's always best to consult with a trusted mechanic for personalized advice.

Along with tread wear, it's important to also check the age of your tires. After 6 years, the rubber can start to deteriorate and compromise the safety and performance of your Toyota Prius. Don't wait until it's too late, replace your tires as soon as they reach the 6 year mark.
