What is the most reliable year for a Toyota Highlander?

I am in the market for a used Toyota Highlander, and I want to make sure I get the most reliable year. Can anyone recommend a specific year to look for?

I have owned two Toyota Highlanders and have found that the 2014 model has been the most reliable for me. I have had minimal issues and the car has been very dependable.

I work at a Toyota dealership and we have seen the least amount of issues with the 2016 model. I would definitely recommend looking for one of those if you are concerned about reliability.

My brother in law owns a 2012 Toyota Highlander and has had no problems with it. He says it's been the most reliable car he's ever owned.
