What is the difference between a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid?

I'm considering buying a Toyota Prius, but I'm confused about which type of hybrid is best. Can someone explain the difference between a regular hybrid and a plug-in hybrid?

Hi Maria! The main difference between a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid is that a plug-in hybrid can be charged by plugging it into an electrical outlet, whereas a regular hybrid only uses gas to power its engine. This means that a plug-in hybrid has a larger battery and can travel longer distances on electric power alone. However, a regular hybrid is more fuel efficient and has a longer driving range. Ultimately, it depends on your driving habits and needs. Hope this helps!

Hi Maria! As a Toyota Prius owner, I can tell you firsthand that both types of hybrids are great options. However, if you have access to charging stations and don't mind plugging in your car, a plug-in hybrid can save you a lot of money on gas. On the other hand, a regular hybrid is more convenient as you don't have to worry about charging. It really comes down to personal preference.

Hey Maria, great question! I work at a Toyota dealership and I'll tell you this, it all depends on your budget. A plug-in hybrid is usually more expensive upfront, but you'll save on gas in the long run. If you're looking for a more affordable option, a regular hybrid is the way to go. Just make sure to test drive both to see which feels more comfortable to drive.
