What is the best type of oil for a Toyota Yaris?

I just purchased a Toyota Yaris and I want to make sure I am using the right type of oil to keep my car running smoothly. What oil do you recommend and how often should I be getting an oil change?

The best type of oil for your Toyota Yaris would be a synthetic 5W-30 oil, as recommended by Toyota. This type of oil provides better protection for your engine and improves fuel economy. It is also recommended to get an oil change every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. This will ensure your engine stays in good condition and extends the life of your car.

I have had my Toyota Yaris for several years now and I have always used a conventional 5W-30 oil for my oil changes. It has worked well for me and I have not had any issues with my engine. However, with newer models, synthetic oil may be the better option for longevity and improved performance.

As a mechanic, I see a lot of Toyota Yaris's come in for oil changes. I recommend sticking with the synthetic 5W-30 oil as it is specifically designed for these types of engines. In terms of frequency, it is recommended to get an oil change every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, but if you do a lot of city driving or have a habit of accelerating quickly, you may want to change it more often.
