What is the best time to replace the tires on my Toyota Corolla?

I am worried about the safety of my Toyota Corolla and want to know when is the ideal time to change the tires. I have been using the original tires for 5 years now and have been driving about 20,000 kilometers per year. Is there a certain mileage or time limit I should consider?

It is recommended to replace your tires every 6 years, regardless of mileage. However, given the fact that you have been driving 20,000 kilometers per year, it would be a good idea to replace them earlier, at around 4 to 5 years.

Another factor to consider is the tread depth of your tires. The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm, but for optimal safety and performance, aim for at least 3mm. You can measure your tread depth using a coin with a rim.

If you notice any signs of wear and tear, such as cracks, bulges, or uneven tread wear, it is best to replace your tires immediately. These signs indicate that your tires are no longer safe to drive on.
