What fuel type is best for Toyota Hilux?

I am considering buying a Toyota Hilux, but I am not sure what fuel type to choose. Should I go for petrol or diesel? What are the pros and cons of each option?

In general, diesel engines are more fuel efficient and have better torque for towing and off-roading. However, if you primarily drive shorter distances, a petrol engine may be more cost effective.

I have been driving a Hilux with a diesel engine for years and I love it. It has great power for off-roading and I haven't had any issues with the fuel costs.
