What does the diff lock in a Toyota Land Cruiser do?

I'm thinking of buying a Toyota Land Cruiser, but I'm not sure what the diff lock does. Can anyone explain?

The diff lock in a Toyota Land Cruiser allows the wheels on the same axle to rotate at the same speed, providing better traction off-road. It's especially useful in muddy or slippery conditions. I've found it really helpful when driving in the mountains.

I've used the diff lock in my Toyota Land Cruiser for rock crawling and it's been a game changer. It locks the differential and forces power to be distributed evenly to all wheels, making it easier to navigate over obstacles. Definitely get it if you plan on taking your Land Cruiser off-road.

I've had a couple of Land Cruisers and never really used the diff lock. From what I've read, it's more useful for extreme off-roading situations. If you're just going to be doing some light off-roading, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But if you want to be prepared for anything, having the diff lock can't hurt.
