What are the best modifications for the Toyota GR86 for drifting?

I recently purchased a Toyota GR86 and want to get into drifting. What are some recommended modifications to make the car more suitable for drifting? Should I focus on suspension, engine, or other aspects?

Hi Ryan, firstly congratulations on your new Toyota GR86! As for your question, I would recommend focusing on suspension and chassis modifications before engine upgrades. Lowering the car, adding stiffer springs and sway bars, and investing in a quality coilover setup will greatly improve the car's handling and make it more suitable for drifting. Other modifications to consider are a limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes, and a roll cage for added safety.

Hey Ryan, it's great to see more people getting into drifting with the new GR86. In addition to suspension modifications, I would suggest looking into a turbo or supercharger kit to give your car more power and torque. Upgrading exhaust and air intake systems can also help with performance. Just make sure to tune the engine properly for the added boost. Keep practicing and have fun!

Hey there Ryan, I would recommend also considering weight reduction for your GR86. Removing unnecessary items such as rear seats, sound deadening, and spare tire can make a big difference in the car's weight and agility. Adding a strut tower brace and chassis braces can also improve overall rigidity and handling. Best of luck!
