Should I upgrade the tires on my Toyota GR86 for better track performance?

I recently purchased a Toyota GR86 for its excellent track performance, but I've noticed that the stock tires may not be up to par. Should I upgrade to a high-performance set for better handling on the track? I'm already planning on making some modifications, so I don't mind investing in better tires if it will significantly improve the car's performance.
