Should I modify my Toyota GR86's suspension for better handling?

I've heard that modifying the suspension on a Toyota GR86 can drastically improve its handling capabilities. However, I'm not sure if it's worth the cost and potential drawbacks. Has anyone had experience with this? What are your recommendations?
