Should I get the Toyota RAV4 with a hybrid or gas engine?

I'm in the market for a new SUV and I'm torn between the Toyota RAV4 hybrid and the gas version. I want to make a more environmentally friendly choice, but I also want to consider factors such as reliability and cost. Does anyone have experience with either option?
