Should I choose a Toyota Land Cruiser for off-roading?

I've been considering buying a Toyota Land Cruiser for some off-roading adventures. However, I've heard mixed opinions about its off-road capabilities. Can any experienced Land Cruiser owners provide some advice on whether it's a good choice for off-roading?
