Is the Toyota Land Cruiser a good car for off-road adventures?

I am planning to go on a road trip to remote areas and I am considering getting a Toyota Land Cruiser. I've heard it's a tough and reliable car, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for off-roading. Can anyone share their experience with the Land Cruiser and give me some insights?
