Is the Toyota Highlander a good SUV for road trips?

I am planning on going on a road trip with my friends and I am considering buying a Toyota Highlander. I am wondering if this SUV is a good choice for road trips in terms of comfort, performance, and fuel efficiency. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
