Is the Toyota Corolla a reliable and fuel-efficient car?

I'm looking to purchase a new car and have been considering the Toyota Corolla. However, I've heard mixed reviews about its reliability and fuel efficiency. Can anyone provide insight or personal experiences with this car?

I have been driving a Toyota Corolla for the past 5 years and I can attest to its reliability. I have not encountered any major mechanical issues and have only needed routine maintenance. As for fuel efficiency, I get around 32 miles per gallon which is great for a compact car.

I have a friend who owns a Toyota Corolla and she loves it. She has had it for over 10 years and it has never let her down. She even took it on a cross-country road trip and had no issues. In terms of fuel efficiency, she averages around 35 miles per gallon.
