Is it better to use a brush or a sponge when washing a Toyota Hilux?

I'm not sure which is more effective, a brush or a sponge, when washing my Toyota Hilux. What are the pros and cons of each and which one is better for maintaining the paint and finish of my vehicle?

I have found that using a sponge allows for gentler washing on the paint and reduces the risk of scratching. However, a brush can be more effective in removing tougher stains and dirt.

I personally prefer using a brush as it gives me more control over the cleaning process and allows for better scrubbing of stubborn dirt. Just make sure to use a soft-bristled brush to avoid scratching the paint.

Why not use both? Start with a sponge to gently wash away any loose dirt and then switch to a brush for tougher stains. Just make sure to rinse the brush after each use to avoid spreading dirt on the paint.
