How often should I get my Toyota Prius checked for oil changes?

I recently purchased a Toyota Prius and I'm not sure how often I should be getting the oil changed. I read online that hybrid cars require less frequent oil changes, but I'm not sure if that applies to the Prius. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Samantha, congratulations on your new Prius! As a general rule, Toyota recommends getting your oil changed every 5,000-7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. However, because the Prius is a hybrid, you may be able to go longer between oil changes. I would recommend checking your owner's manual or consulting with a Toyota dealership for more specific guidelines based on your driving habits and the conditions you typically drive in.

Hey Samantha, great question! With a hybrid vehicle like the Prius, the frequency of oil changes can vary depending on your driving habits and the conditions you typically drive in. As a general guideline, Toyota recommends getting an oil change every 5,000-7,500 miles or every 6 months. However, if you do a lot of city driving or frequently drive in stop-and-go traffic, you may need to get it changed more often. Keep an eye on your oil life indicator and schedule an oil change when needed. Happy driving!

Hi there, Samantha! Welcome to the Prius family. As a Prius owner myself, I can tell you that these cars are incredibly low maintenance. In fact, most models only require an oil change every 10,000 miles. However, keeping up with regular oil changes can prolong the life of your vehicle and protect your engine in the long run. My advice would be to stick to the manufacturers recommended oil change intervals for optimal performance.
