How often should I change the spark plugs in my Toyota Supra?

I just bought a used 2002 Toyota Supra and I'm not sure when the spark plugs were last changed. Can you give me some guidance on when to replace them and what type of spark plugs are best for this car?

Hi Samantha, congratulations on your new Toyota Supra! In general, it's recommended to change the spark plugs every 30,000 miles or every 2-3 years, whichever comes first. However, it's always a good idea to consult your owner's manual for the specific recommendation for your car's make and model. As for the type of spark plugs, it's best to stick with the ones recommended by Toyota for optimal performance and fuel efficiency.

Hey Samantha, I own a Supra myself and I personally change my spark plugs every 20,000 miles. I find that it helps with the car's overall performance and I've had no issues with it. As for the type of spark plugs, I've always used NGK Iridium plugs and they've worked great for me. But again, make sure to check your manual for the recommended spark plugs for your specific Supra.

Hi Samantha, I have a friend who has been a mechanic for over 20 years and he always recommends changing spark plugs every 40,000 miles. He says it's not necessary to do it sooner unless you're experiencing problems with your car. As for the type of spark plugs, he prefers Bosch Platinum plugs for Toyotas. Hope this helps!
