How often should I change the oil in my Toyota GR86?

I just got a new Toyota GR86 and I want to make sure I take good care of it. I know that changing the oil is an important part of maintenance, but how often should I do it? Is it different for a new car compared to an older model?

As a general rule, it's recommended to change your oil every 5,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first. However, since your Toyota GR86 is a new car, you should follow the manufacturer's recommendations which is to change the oil every 10,000 miles or 12 months. This is because newer cars often have better engines and can go longer periods of time between oil changes.

It really depends on your driving habits and the conditions you drive in. If you frequently drive in stop-and-go traffic or do a lot of city driving, it's best to change your oil more frequently - around 3,000-5,000 miles. But if you mainly do highway driving, you can stick to the recommended 10,000 miles

My personal recommendation is to check your oil level and condition regularly and change it accordingly. If you notice any signs of dirty or low oil, it's better to change it sooner rather than waiting for the recommended mileage. Your engine will thank you!
