Is the Toyota RAV4 a good choice for off-roading adventures?

I'm planning a road trip and I'm considering getting a Toyota RAV4. I've heard it's a reliable car, but I'm wondering if it can handle off-roading and rough terrain. Can anyone share their experience with this? Any tips or recommendations?
