How to properly break in a Toyota GR86?

I just purchased a Toyota GR86 and I'm wondering what is the best way to break in the engine and other components? Should I follow the manufacturer's recommendation or do something differently?

In order to properly break in your new Toyota GR86, it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendation. This usually involves avoiding hard acceleration and high RPMs for the first 1,000 miles. This allows the engine and other components to properly settle and wear evenly. Additionally, make sure to change your oil and perform other scheduled maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.

Although it is always best to follow the manufacturer's recommendation for breaking in a new vehicle, some people have found success with a more aggressive break in method. This involves gradually increasing your speed and RPM over the first 1,000 miles. However, keep in mind that this may put more stress on the engine and could potentially void your warranty.

Personally, I have found that a mix of both methods works best. I follow the manufacturer's recommendation for the first 500 miles, and then gradually increase my speed and RPMs for the remaining 500 miles. This allows the engine to properly break in while also giving it a little more power and performance from the start.
